Glen Burnie children to enjoy fall traditions

In a few weeks, the Harbor Harvest Fall Children’s Festival will be part of the Halloween season again this year. This will be the ninth year for the free event.

IKEA will have its annual pumpkin patch. Children can decorate their chosen pumpkins, pet animals at the petting zoo, and get their faces painted. There will be live entertainment, and pony rides.

A Harbor Harvest Kids’ Pass will include cookie decorating, pumpkin decorating, and a tote bag. Passes may be purchased online for $5 or at the door for $7.

Children may want to wear their Halloween outfits to this event. Glen Burnie parents may consider taking pictures of their little cowboys and princesses enjoying the fall activities. These pictures could be used to get some postcard printing done to send to relatives.

The families may want to swing by the Maryland Zoo after visiting the Harvest Fall Festival for the opening day of the zoo’s OktoBEARfest. That event will have live music, German food and beverages, and artisan vendors.

The Harvest Fest will start at 10:00 am and go until 2:00 pm Saturday, October 22, at West Shore Park 501 Light Street in Baltimore. The zoo’s OktoBEARfest will be on the same day, starting at noon and going until 4:00 pm at the zoo’s Waterfowl Lake Pavilion.
