The Kentlands Community Players will be bringing their take on classic play A Man for All Seasons to Gaithersburg this January.
The play portrays the historical events surrounding Sir Thomas More during his time as Lord Chancellor of England under King Henry VIII’s rule. The script was written by Robert Bolt and premiered in London in 1960 before going on to become a long-running Broadway hit and award-winning film. The Community Players prioritize accessibility for people of all abilities and backgrounds.
The Gaithersburg production will feature local talent selected through auditions in the starring roles, with Nathan Chadwick as More, Jay Tipnis as Thomas Cromwell, and a surprise guest in the role of the King. The production will be directed by Andrew Harasty, and is recommended for ages 12 and up.
The Kentland Players production will have an extended run, with nine shows across three weekends, including matinees on Sunday afternoons. Community theater shows like this often rely on the support of local businesses, such as Print shops for advertising or antique stores for set decoration. The group will also be staging the mystery play Outward Bound from April to May to close out the season.
The Gaithersburg production of A Man for All Seasons will be staged on weekends from January 9 to 25, 2026 at the Arts Barn.
