The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair will be holding its 77th annual edition this August in Gaithersburg, offering what it describes as “the best 9 days of summer.”
This year’s Fair will feature the theme “Barn in the USA”, celebrating America’s 250th anniversary and its rural heritage. There will be competitions and prizes for a wide variety of crops, animals, and crafts, ranging from sheep to original artwork to pies. Visitors can also watch light-hearted rural events like pig racing.
Two days of the show will also feature Renegade Monster Trucks action, with nine colorful and larger-than-life trucks performing tricks and stunts including big air jumps. The trucks scheduled for both nights include Stinger Unleashed, Hurricane Force, Block Head and Virginia Giant. This will be followed on Saturday by a Demolition Derby with drivers navigating a perilous course.
The fair will have dedicated days for 4-H students, families, senior citizens, and military veterans, with free or discounted admission. Attendees are encouraged to bring unused children’s clothing, Backpacks, toys and blankets to donate to the Comfort Cases Donation Drive, run by the Montgomery Teen Council. Agricultural fairs often use banner printing and special events to recognize contributing organizations, sponsors and volunteers.
The 2026 edition of the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair will take place from August 14 to 22 at the fairgrounds in Gaithersburg.
