Gaithersburg Chorus to celebrate American music

The Gaithersbrug Chorus will hold their annual spring concert this May, and this year’s edition will feature American composers and songwriters.

The Spring Concert will feature the title of “Let Us Resound.” The group will perform vocal pieces from classic American composers like Francisco Nunez, J. Rosamond Johnson, and Irving Berlin. Audience members can also here new takes on modern popular favorites like Dolly Parton and Brandi Carlile.

The Chorus is made up of singers ages 16 and up developing their talents under Music Director Melodia Rinaldi. The chorus includes all vocal parts in alto, baritone, soprano and tenor. The group shows their talents to the community in biannual concerts. The spring concert will coincide with yearlong celebrations of the 250th anniversary of America’s founding.

There will be two performances of Let Us Resound featuring a similar musical line-up. Community concerts like this often use program and brochure printing to help identify all of the talent involved as well as local sponsors and other supporters. Advertising for the show encourages community members to:

“..join the Gaithersburg Chorus for a program celebrating the diverse sights and sounds of our nation, featuring melodic favorites, iconic poets, and classic songwriters from sea to shining sea.”

The Gaithersburg Chorus will perform their Let Us Resound concert on May 8 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and May 12 at the Rosborough Theatre.
