Gaithersburg to host holiday series
Gaithersburg will be organizing its holiday programming under the Santa’s Holiday Tour theme this December, with the big man in red traveling across the city.
The Holiday Tour consists of events at four distinct traditions. Santa will first appear at the 99th annual Jingle Jubilee & Tree Lighting at the Concert Pavillion. The event will celebrate a diverse set of holiday traditions with music and dance, and see the official lighting of a holiday tree. Next, Santa will stop by the Kentlands Mansion for a Cupcake Magic with Santa demonstration, where participants learn how to make cupcakes and other holiday treats.
The event series will continue with the railroad-themed All Aboard with Santa event at the historic 1884 RR Station, part of Gaithersburg’s Community Museum. Visitors can enjoy cookies and hot chocolates, and explore a 1918 steam engine. Educational events like this often use poster printing and interactive activities to help convey information.
Finally, Santa will stop at the Casey Community Center alongside Mrs. Claus for Cocoa with the Clauses. Families are encouraged to visit to have a cup of cocoa, with children able to write and personally deliver a letter to Santa. The event series is designed to provide an opportunity for photo opportunities and family fun.
