The Chesapeake Life Center, Hospice of the Chesapeake, and Chesapeake Supportive Care are collaborating once again to host a healthcare symposium designed for the community and professionals alike, although in virtual format this year.
This will be the symposium’s third year. Online registration is now open and anyone can sign up for Caring for the Continuum of Life 2020: A Virtual Healthcare Symposium. Flyer printing is an effective way of promoting such events.
Experts from the industries of palliative care and hospice will be making presentations on a wide range of topics, including spirituality and racial issues affecting healthcare. Two of the units are educational ones prepared for social workers in Anne Arundel counties such as Crofton. The other educational units will discuss difficult topics such as end-of-life decisions and how they are relevant in today’s world.
The first speaker on the day will be Dr. Karen Bullock, who works at North Carolina State University as the Assistant Dean of Social Work. She will be discussing how social workers and communities can take steps to becoming more understanding of other cultures while offering care. Other speakers who will be making presentations on the day include Dr. Eric Bush and Dr. Gloria Thomas Anderson.
The symposium will be held on October 24. It starts at 7:45 am and should be finished by 12:45 pm.
