The run will be along a one-kilometer trail, with half-kilometer trails also available, for a light athletic challenge. The path will be a cross-country trail across fields and through woods at the height of autumn. Participants can run or walk the distance. Visitors can also enjoy the farm’s various attractions, including pony rides, before things quieten down for winter. The farm promotes pony rides to families as an opportunity for bonding and growth, saying:
“Make a fun, family memory that lasts – and a connection with horses that can change a life. If you know, you know!”
The goal of the Harvest Run is to benefit Crofton’s Food Pantry, which provides free food to those in need at various locations. Runners can contribute a cash donation or equivalent non-perishable food items such as cereal, canned food, or dry pasta. Charitable events like this often use methods like brochure printing to highlight how the cause contributes to the community.
The 2025 Fun at the Farm Harvest Run will take place at Beech Grove Farm in Gambrills on the morning of this Saturday, November 1, with next Saturday, November 8 serving as a rain date. Pre-registration is required for runners or walkers.
