The Crofton Civic Association (CCA) will gather for its general membership meeting next month to provide residents with information on finance and bylaws.
The CCA administers the Crofton Special Community Benefit District (CSCBD), which is a geographical tax district that provides special services to properties in the region that normally would not receive assistance. The benefits include community maintenance, recreation facilities as well as public safety. The district provides law enforcement over and above what is provided by the County.
The CCA was created by a group of residents not long after Crofton was developed as a community in 1964. The association was established to promote civic awareness.
The upcoming public meeting will be an opportunity for residents to ask questions of CCA board members and hear about budget highlights. In addition, there will be a vote on updating the organization’s bylaws. One important change is the planned move to allow association members to conduct future voting online or by email. At least 75 residents are required to be in attendance to vote to change this bylaw.
Organizers of civic meetings such as this often turn to local Print shops to provide their hand-out materials.
The CCA General Membership Meeting will be held January 12, 2026 at 7 pm in the Crofton Elementary School cafeteria. It will be a family-friendly evening as children's activities, such as crafts and games, will be held in the school gymnasium.
