New youth category in Crofton pie competition

The 2026 Crofton Pie Bake-off will welcome junior bakers to this year’s competition.

Presented by the Crofton Kiwanis Club and the Crofton Civic Association, the event will be held next month at the local Farmer’s Market.

Community organizations that host these types of events often seek out printing services for their promotion and advertising needs.

A new Junior Baker Trophy will be awarded to the top home-cooked pie prepared by a participant 16 years of age or younger.

The overall top pie of the contest will receive a trophy, while gift cards and engraved pie spatulas will be awarded to the bakers who prepare the best fruit pie, the best cream pie and the best savory pie. Each contestant must contribute at least two pies per entry as, after the judging, slices can be purchased by the public with all proceeds going to charity.

The pie-baking contest will support the Crofton Christian Caring Council's Baby Pantry. The pantry supplies less fortunate families with essential baby items such as formula, diapers, food, and other items.

The 2026 Crofton Pie Bake-Off will be held July 11, 2026, at the farmers market at the Crofton Public Library, 1681 Riedel Road, from 10 am to 12 noon. Judges will sample the pies at 10:30 am and announce the winners at 11:30 am. In the event of rain, it will be rescheduled for July 18, 2026.
