Family stories scheduled for Juneteenth celebration

Photographs, memoirs, stories, and historic family information will be featured in a Freedom Way exhibit at Juneteenth festivities near Crofton.

Organizers of next month’s celebration in nearby Annapolis have invited the public to honor the legacies of their ancestors with stories of migration, freedom and community service. The display will be just one part of three days of festivities during the sixth annual event.

Included will be an evening formal gala to recognize 12 individuals who have made a difference in their communities within Anne Arundel county.

As well, the third annual Juneteenth Carr’s Beach reunion will be held at the Annapolis Maritime museum featuring a lineup of live music performances including Voices of Motown and Legends of Soul.

On day three, the Juneteenth parade will take place as well as a festival of live music, entertainers, vendors, a children’s village and an evening fireworks display.

Organizers of multi-event celebrations such as this often use poster printing to advertise the schedule of activities.
