A workshop presentation of Red Sky Over Halifax will be held one afternoon next month in Bowie, near Crofton.
Presented by the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts (BPBA), the new musical was written by Christopher Dwyer, the center’s executive director.

Red Sky Over Halifax is the epic historical maritime story of life in the days ahead of the 1917 Halifax Explosion, a time of indigenous strength during colonial growth. The music of Emma Stevens, a Mi’Kmaq artist, and the sea shanty style of The Longest Johns will be featured.
The musical is among a wide range of presentations the BPBA hosts as part of its commitment to bringing arts and culture to the community through original programming and other top-quality productions.
