The repaving of Duke of Kent Drive is slated to begin in August between Davidsonville Road and Crofton Parkway.
The project will include patching of the roadway base, utility adjustments, replacement of roadway surface layers, upgrading concrete curbs in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and spot concrete repair.
The project’s contractor will attempt to avoid private fixtures and systems in the public right-of-way; however, it is suggested that residents of Duke of Kent Drive move any automatic sprinklers prior to start of construction. According to county officials, relocation will not be mandated but failure to do so will be at the homeowner’s risk. Any relocation should place the sprinklers at least 36 inches from any present sidewalk or curb line.
A flyer printing service offers a means to provide information or advertise to a group in a specific geographic area, such as to residents of a neighborhood or workers in a particular area.
A second announcement will be made by county officials and Flyers distributed to homeowners on the street detailing the work to be performed and when the work will likely start. Moreover, this second notification will be delivered no less than seven days prior to construction.
Century Engineering has been chosen by the county to handle the construction parts of the project. Questions regarding the project can be directed to the office of the county’s Pavement Management.
