Maryland hosts its annual wine month

More than 100 wineries and vineyards are located in Maryland, many of which are taking part in Maryland Wine Month.

Maryland has a long history of winemaking with records showing the beverage was made here as far back as the 1600s. Maryland’s first vineyard bonding happened in 1945 at the Boordy Vineyard in Hydes.

Wineries from locations in Anne Arundel such as Crofton are showcasing their wares during this month. Wine-lovers will have an opportunity to find out about the diversity of the wines on offer, sample their quality, and learn about their innovative production practices.

Judy Crow from Crow Vineyard & Winery, who is also the Maryland Wineries Association’s president, took the opportunity to promote Maryland Wine Month by saying:

“Wine Month is a great time to visit your favorite local wineries or to explore new wineries during a weekend getaway. Wineries produce agricultural products, often from grapes grown on generational farms, that are unique to Maryland and delicious.”

Retailers and farmers ccan use occasions such as this to promote their brands by giving out Promotional Products. The wine from Maryland is known for its high quality, which is why many of the labels based in Maryland have been awarded scores in excess of 90 points by national critics.

More information about what is happening during the month can be found on the event’s website.
