The 10th annual Crofton Dog Show and Dog Pie Eating Contest returns to the community next month as part of the Festival on the Green. Presented by the Crofton Civic Association, the dog show is a family event in which adults and children can enter their canine friends into competitions.
A panel of judges will award prizes for first overall and second best in show based on grooming and behavior. Medals and prizes will also be presented in other categories, including tricks, costumes, pet and owner look-a-likes and a Simon Says contest. For this activity, dogs who are the most obedient and responsive to standard commands will win awards for their age category.
Spectators also won’t want to miss the highlight of the event: a dog pie eating contest. Pies for all sizes of dogs will be offered and the first dogs in their weight categories to finish their pie will win, as long as they didn’t dive into the food before the starting command.
At the end of the show, one lucky pup will be named Top Dog, recognizing the most impressive Crofton canine.
Associations that organize events such as this often use banner printing to draw attention to their venue and event. The 2025 Crofton Dog Show will be held beginning at 11:30 am on Saturday, September 27 at the Crofton Country Club.
