This was a good opportunity for volunteers to meet and trade Business Cards with community leaders. Cathy Gallagher from the Crofton Village Garden Club was in attendance and she presented the Bernie Robertson Award to Gail Brooks and Jane McClanahan who are both members of the CVGC.
McClanahan has been an active member of the club since 2006. She is known for hosting flower shows in her home and holding leadership positions at the club. In honor of Crofton’s 50th anniversary, McClanahan will be in charge of planting 50 cherry trees that have been donated by the CVGC. They will be planted along Crofton Parkway.
Gail Brooks has been a member of the CVGC for more than 40 years. In that time, he has held almost every board position at the CVGC and is an expert at floral design. He said that:
“Working with these ladies and working for the beauty of Crofton has been a pleasure.”
John Maloney from the Kiwani Club of Crofton presented the Pinnacle Award to Brian McCann. McCann co-owns The Blue Dolphin which has a reputation for letting charities and community programs use its banquet hall.
Other recipients of awards on the day include Michael Nunn, Vickie McQuade, Corporal Toby Hafer, Julie Piercy, Lynn Pollock and Wesley Sherman among others.
