A year-long schedule of celebrations is planned to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Crofton, and two of the many community events take place next month.
Six bands performing in a range of musical genres will entertain at the Summer Music Festival on Saturday, June 1 at the Crofton Country Club. It will feature bands playing rock and roll, ‘90s tribute tunes, funk, R&B, and more. The Crofton High School music department is joining in the celebrations as its school band will also perform. The free outdoor festival runs from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm and is open to all ages. Food trucks will be on hand selling refreshments.
The Country Club also plays host on Thursday, June 6 to the 60th Anniversary 18-hole shotgun golf tournament. The special two-ball tournament includes breakfast, an anniversary luncheon, and cash prizes. Participants are asked to bring non-perishable food bank donations, for which they will receive raffle ticket entries.
Crofton was founded in 1964 as a planned community and has expanded and developed into a popular, vibrant location over the past six decades. The city's anniversary celebrations offer an opportunity for organizers and sponsors to use local Print shops for Posters and merchandise to promote the events.
The community festivities will continue throughout 2024 and include a kids' festival on Saturday, July 13. Visit CroftonCommunity.org for further information on the 60th anniversary events and sponsors.
