Women and students can now apply for scholarships in Malden
The Zonta Club of Malden has opened up its scholarship awards that it gives graduating high school seniors who it considers are academically qualified.
Those who are applying for these scholarships also need to be a resident of Malden and have been accepted at a four-year college or university or school of nursing. Each scholarship is worth up to $1,000 and is given based on leadership potential, academic standing, and demonstration of the ability to collaborate with other people in benefiting the academic institution of the applicant and the community at large.
Brochures that contain information about the scholarship can be prepared and given to schools in Malden, where they can be made available to students.
The Zonta Club of Malden will also be awarding a scholarship this year to a woman who is interested in enhancing her professional abilities or re-entering the workforce. The ideal candidate would be someone who is looking to advance her education or business, career, and professional skills and is enrolled in a college, university, or accredited continuing education program. Financial need and academic standing will determine the scholarship awards for adult learners.
On May 19, the Zonta Club of Malden will hold its Annual Scholarship and Youth Recognition Night at Anthony’s of Malden, where it will recognize the scholarship recipients.
