Malden to host tours of new public art

The city of Malden is hosting an art tour of a new public art installation in Malden Center.

The community is invited to view six new murals painted by six new artists. This tour is open to the public and will enable participants to see six works of art that have been recently completed, meet the artists and learn more about their creative processes and their work, learn more about how public art is working towards development of an outdoor art district in the center of Malden, and to celebrate the community partners, artists, and all those who helped to make this project possible.

These new murals join the growing public art collection of murals and colorful painted switchboxes in Malden Center. The City of Malden and Creative Malden partnered on this project to expose the community to public art so residents and visitors can learn about, experience, and celebrate it together.

Registration is required for this tour, the cost of which is $5.00 per person. Tours will take place at 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. After the tours, the celebration will be held at a local restaurant in Malden to which all participants are invited.

Such special events can be promoted throughout a city with poster printing.

The tours will be on Saturday October 3. Attendees will meet at Pleasant and Summer Streets.
