News of such tools and resources and their benefits for a city is often made known with flyer printing.
Malden will have a full-time economic development professional for three years who will provide on-the-ground collaboration with residents, community organizations, and businesses as well as expertise to help accelerate the opportunities for economic development. Grants, technical assistance, and additional resources will be provided by MassDevelopment to build on the character and existing strengths of the city.
Mayor Gary Christenson said that this is:
“a major victory for the future of economic development in Malden.”
He added that the resources of the TDI program are significant and their expertise is unparalleled and will help to leverage the economic strength of the city to make it even better.
TDI employs an accelerator approach, dedicating concentrated resources over a set timeframe to support small business resilience and expansion, real estate projects, enhancements to the arts and culture, placemaking initiatives, and focused technical guidance and strategic planning. TDI helps strengthen and broaden a strong foundation of community involvement and collaborative partnerships to better reflect a neighborhood’s diversity while fostering lasting, productive relationships among partners.
