New police commissioner appointed in Malden
Barbara Murphy has been appointed as the next Police Commissioner of Malden. This fills the vacancy following the passing of Salvatore Gennetti, who had been in the position for 14 years.
Such appointments often call for the need for business card printing services.
Murphy has lived in Malden all her life and was the City Councilor for Ward 5 for seven years. During that time, she was president of the Council twice, was chair of the finance committee several times, and played an active role in matters related to public safety.
Mayor Gary Christenson expressed his pleasure that Murphy wants to continue to service her community and has agreed to work side by side with Glenn Cronin, the Police Chief of Malden, to provide oversight and guidance of the Malden Police Department. He added that Murphy has strong operational and management skills and knowledge of municipal government, finance, and the community, as well as an even-keeled approach and fair mindedness that make her ideal for this position.
Murphy expressed her honor in taking on this new role and working with the many officers that comprise the Malden Police Department. She added that she has always supported the department and being in this role will give her the opportunity to do something gratifying and challenging.
Murphy is the first woman in the history of Malden to be appointed as Police Commissioner.
