New Italian eatery comes to Malden
Floramo’s Restaurant is now open in Malden on Centre Street.
Such new restaurants can turn to local print shops to help spread the word about their cuisine and unique features with flyers and other printed materials.
Pat and Tommy Floramo developed the concept for the restaurant in 1984. Floramo’s serves Italian cuisine as well as barbecue and seafood dishes. John Floramo is now the second generation owner of the restaurant.
The restaurant has had a location in Chelsea for many years. John Floramo partnered with the team at the Dockside Restaurant in Wakefield to open a location of Floramo’s in that city. Now that the location in Malden is opened, John plans to move out of the Chelsea location and to build a laboratory and research building at the site in Chelsea.
Kevin Duffy, Business Development Officer for the city of Malden, said that this move has been in the works for a long time. Duffy said he had been discussing opening a location of the restaurant with John for several years. Duffy added that this has been ideal for the community.
Floramo’s in Malden offers a full-service dining room, a full bar with additional seating in a lounge space, and round tables for holding larger parties. Floramo’s is designed to be a destination for dining for residents and visitors to Boston and the surrounding communities.
