What's Happening in Malden, MA…

New equipment rental company opens in Malden

Rannsak, a peer-to-peer equipment rental business, is now opened in Malden.

This is a marketplace that enables owners of equipment in the area to rent out their goods to others in the area. Rannsak has no physical location, but people are welcome to use their website to post equipment that is available or to find rentable equipment from someone nearby. This business model helps to decrease consumption by enabling people to rent equipment rather than buying it, and thereby supports sustainability.

News and information about innovative business concepts can be made known throughout a community with flyer printing.

Rannsak’s website enables people looking to rent equipment to search by locations and keywords and see the availability of equipment in real time. Rentals can be booked with a few simple and easy clicks. Those who own equipment to rent can decide how much they want to charge, when their equipment can be rented, and whether to accept a rental request. Rannsak then handles the rest of the coordination.

Gary Christenson, mayor of Malden, celebrated the opening of the new venture with a ribbon “tying” ceremony. The ceremony was labeled as such because Rannsak said the goal of the business is to tie people in the community together.

Rannsak’s owners are Jessica and Patrick Sherman. Patrick served two tours in Iraq and is a disabled veteran.
