What's Happening in Malden, MA…

New brewery to open in Malden

Malden will soon be home to a new brew pub.

Faces Brewing Company is planning a fall 2019 opening. The Martignetti family, who once owned the Faces nightclub by the Lanes and Games bowling in Cambridge, are the owners of the new brew pub. They have spent the summer renovating the historic First National Bank, the location of the brewery, installing equipment for brewing, and developing its own recipes. Among the brews that plan to be on the menu are hefeweizen with hints of flavors or vanilla and strawberry and an American pale ale.

Faces will be the first hometown beer brewing operation in the city. The community can be informed of such milestones and of more specific opening dates through flyer printing.

The Martignetti family has invested $3 million in the building. As the building is eligible to become on the list of National Register of Historic Places, few changes are planned for the exterior except for a potential outdoor seating deck.

Inside there will a tasting room and restaurant to accommodate a total of 285 people. A 10-barrel system will operate in the brewery and produce 20 kegs of beer a day. Two gallons of beer will be able to be taken home by customers.

It is expected that three dozen new jobs will be brought to the city as a result of the business.
