Malden to celebrate 10 years of reading
The 10th anniversary year celebration and fundraising event of Malden Reads will be held next month as a one-day pop-up holiday bookstore.
This event will celebrate 10 years of the book selections for children and adults from Malden Reads. The selection for 2020, “Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury and its version for younger readers, will be on sale, as well as all the books and their companion books from the previous years.
Those who visit the shop will be able to learn about the One City, One Book program of Malden, celebrate memories of past books, and find out about upcoming events. Flyer printing is often used to promote and inform the community of such events.
Other activities for the day will include arts and crafts for children and adults, creative gift wrapping, books by local authors for sale, talks from authors throughout the day, and a discussion area with cards related to the general themes of the books from Malden Reads. Attendees will also be able to share their titles of their favorite books on a mural that will travel to other such programs in the city next year.
There will be a gift raffle and opportunities to donate to the program.
The ‘Holiday Pop-up Bookstore & More’ will be held on Saturday, December 7 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm in Malden Square in the new J Malden Center apartment complex.
