Malden receives fund for park project

$150,000 has been secured by Malden state representatives Paul Donato, Kate Lipper-Garabedian, and Steven Ultrino and state senator Jason Lewis for the Malden River Works Project.

The funds will be used in this project for climate resilience efforts along the banks of the Malden River and environmental remediation.

The project will feature a flexible lawn space with trees for shade, a boat house and boat launch, and an accessible path to the river. There will be an elevated greenway that in the future will connect the north and south portions of the park. A bioretention pond will be built for flood control, detaining stormwater, and restoring a more natural ecosystem along the river. Plans for such projects are often outlined for the community using local printing services.

Senator Lewis expressed his thrill that the legislative delegation from Malden was able to work together to secure this funding as it is a very worthy project in the city. He added that the project will provide many recreational and environmental benefits for the community.

Representative Lipper-Garabedian added her pleasure in seeing that the legislative delegation from Malden continues to find funding for this project. She said so far the project has been of great benefit for the community. Representative Donato echoed those sentiments in saying that it will be a valuable addition to the community.
