Language school moves to new Malden location
High Expectations, a school for learning the English language, is now open in Florence Street in Malden.
The school first opened in 2015 on Summer Street and focused on test preparation and counseling, but realized that there was a greater need in the community to teach English as a second language. In 2019, the school became accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation. The Department of Homeland Security certified the school to admit F1 visa students in 2022.
The relocation to Florence Street was necessitated by an increase in enrollment and the need to expand. The new facility is on two floors and spans 16,500 square feet. There are 15 faculty and 12 staff members who serve 285 full-time students. It is expected that the number of employees and students will continue to increase in the coming year. As such, there may be a need for business card printing services.
Currently, the school offers intensive training in the English language. Its mission is to help both immigrant and international students to become ready for college and careers, and to eliminate barriers in the ability of students to achieve their personal, academic, and economic goals. The school employs engaging and student-centered language programs and instruction, based on research, which explore the culture and society of the United States.
