High-end bakery expands to Malden
The owners of Hoff’s Bakery were recently joined by Mayor Gary Christenson, State Representative Paul Donato, and officials elected from the local community as well as officials of the Brookline Bank to break ground at its new location on Green Street in Malden.
The establishment was previously located in Medford in a 30,000 square-foot facility. The new location, formerly the home of Asahi America, is 100,000 square feet in size and was made possible by a collaboration between the city and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to increase the investment of the business of $16m, with an additional $8.3m to renovate the site.
As part of the expansion, nearly 100 jobs will be made available for Malden residents once the bakery open in 2016. This will also provide a good opportunity for business card printing companies to print cards for the new employees promoting the bakery.
Peg Crowe, Ward 1 Councilor, commented that it has been a pleasure to work with Hoff's Bakery over the past few months, and is very pleased that not only will high-end baked goods be brought to the Malden community but that many jobs will also be added for Malden residents.
The bakery is family owned and makes a variety of products including cheesecakes, gourmet pies and tarts, individual desserts, cakes and tortes, and items for the several holidays throughout the year.
