Happy neuter year program comes to Malden
The Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society will be providing reduced prices on surgeries for neutering male cats during the month of January as part of its Catmobile Program, and will be in Malden later this month.
The regular price for a neuter costs $80, but during the month it will be charging $20 for its package that includes a spay/neuter, treatment for fleas and ear mites, rabies vaccinations, a nail trim, and a general examination. For $15 a dose, individually packaged flea treatments will be available to take home.
The price for a female spay will still be the standard $120 and for a feral cat; for $35 that will include an ear-tip.
The Catmobile Program of the Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society is specifically designed for cats and is staffed by a technician and veterinarian, meaning it can handle up to 30 cats per day. It covers both the North and South Shore, the Merrimack River Valley, Central Massachusetts, and the greater Boston and Metrowest areas.
The Catmobile will be at MacDonald Stadium in Malden this Friday, January 22, beginning at 8:30 am. The campaign is sponsored by PetSmart Charities, which may be turning to a local print company to print flyers that can be distributed to pet owners in the community to make them aware of the reduced price for male neutering.
