What's Happening in Malden, MA…

Boston travel company to relocate to Malden

Historic Tours of America has purchased a commercial building in Malden.

Located on Commercial Street, the building spans 53,872 square feet. Boston Realty Advisors represented Historic Tours of America and the seller was a joint venture partnership of Bain Capital and Oliver Street Capital. The building was purchased for $21 million.

Managing Director of Boston Realty Advisors, Mike Jezienicki, said that Historic Tours of America was looking for a property that met its unique criteria, and this building stood out for its many assets in what is a highly competitive urban landscape. He said that this was a successful transaction not only for Historic Tours of America, but for Bain Capital and Oliver Street as well.

An entertainment company that operates in seven states, Historic Tours of America will make some minor renovations to the building and then move from its current headquarters in South Boston to Malden. Such moves often require hiring stationery printers as new letterheads, business cards, and other corporate materials will need to be updated to reflect the move. The building was once home to the Piantedosi Baking Co. and will enable Historic Tours of America to expand.

Historic Tours of America provides vacation experiences with historic themes in Boston; San Diego, California; Washington, D.C.; Savannah, Georgia; and St. Augustine and Key West in Florida.
