Art class on textures to be held in Malden
The Galleryat57 in Malden will be hosting a class at the beginning of next month titled “Art Classes@The Brewery: Frottage: a fancy-pants name for a fun art technique.”
This class is designed to enable attendees to explore texture, and how art can be made to look textured through the use of creative techniques. The material used in the class will be frottage, a rubbing from made from any patterned or uneven surface that enamors surrealist artists and kindergarten kids alike.
Other dry materials such as crayons, colored pencils, and graphite will be used to create flat textures that can be put together on paper. Attendees will cut, tear, rub, glue, and combine these materials to create an original work of art from unusual elements. This class is for those looking for a night out to do something creative, as well as for artists who are interested in collaged and experimenting with texture.
Materials will be provided at a cost of $53 for the class. People of all experience are welcome and encouraged to attend. Such events can be attractive to those with creative instincts. Flyer printing can be used to promote art classes and the experience they offer for each individual attendee.
The class will begin at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, May 7 at Idle Hands Craft Ales on Commercial Street in Malden.
