Special dinners, pies, and fundraising come to Fall River area

The Knights of Columbus of the St. John of God Parish in Somerset will be hosting several events and activities this month and next. Residents of Fall River may want to take advantage of these special opportunities.

The Friday Kitchen will be opened and will be serving chowder, calm cakes, baked scrod, fish and chips, and shrimp Mozambique for the November feast. The menu for the December meal will be available later this month. Events like this are often promoted with flyer printing.

Those interested in these dinners need to order them by Thursday of the week they will be served. Such reservations can be made by email or by calling the office between noon and 5:00 pm. Meals will be available for pickup at the church hall where there will also be a raffle. The first Friday Kitchen will be tomorrow, November 5, and the second one is on December 4.

The Parish will also be offering Thanksgiving Pies to Go, the Forms for which will be made available at the first Friday Kitchen. Choices are pumpkin, blueberry, and apple pies, which will cost $15 each and are nine inches in diameter.

There will also be a Cash Calendar Raffle with the chance to win $1,075. This is a fundraiser for the Parish, offering chances to win every day of the month until January 2021.
