Cape Verdean restaurant opens in Fall River

Sosabi Restaurant Bar and Lounge is now welcoming diners in Fall River.

The restaurant is on County Street and once was the home of O Gil, a Portuguese eatery that had spent 34 yearts in its location. The new establishment will focus on authentic cuisine from Cape Verde, and will remain as a family-style restaurant.

Owner Adilson Teixeira said that there will be a “good vibe” in the restaurant, such that it will feel like home. Teixeira grew up in the West African islands of Cape Verde. His father ran a corner shop and restaurant there, and his dream has always been to open his own eatery inspired by the country.

The menu will also feature traditional Portuguese dishes in addition to some American and Spanish offerings. The interior of the space has undergone a few upgrades, such as new paint, new floors, and its own décor. There is still a bar area, a dining room, and space for private functions. Teixeira is planning to add live entertainment. He said he is looking forward to introducing himself and his business to the community, getting their feedback, and getting to know them.

More details about such new establishments can be disseminated throughout a city with flyer printing.

The hours for Sosabi Restaurant Bar and Lounge are 11:00 am to 1:00 am Monday through Saturday and from 10:00 am to midnight on Sunday, serving Sunday brunch.
