Governor Charlie Baker of Massachusetts and Amazon.com recently announced that Fall River will become home to a new fulfillment center for the company.
This new center will bring 500 jobs of a full-time nature to the area. These jobs will offer a 401(k) with 50% match, health insurance, stocks awards in the company, maternity and paternity leave benefits, and a great deal of support to ensure the success of the new employees.
According to the vice president of North America operations for Amazon, Mike Roth, the company is growing in the Commonwealth. It employs engineers, develops, and scientists and now will have hundreds of full-time associates in a fulfillment center that is the first in the Commonwealth. The company has research and technology offices throughout the state and a sortation center in Stoughton.
Governor Charlie Baker added that an important economic boost to a gateway city, as well as its surrounding communities, will be the result of Amazon’s presence. The goal of his administration is to enable more companies to grow and expand in the Commonwealth and provide more economic opportunities for its residents to become successful.
