New Fall River eatery gets off the ground running

Dave’s Pizza recently opened in Fall River, the latest addition to the competitive food market in the city.

The new pizzeria is in the building where Amaral’s Market was located, which has now moved across the street. The restaurant offers sandwiches, grinders, pizza, and salads, both in the restaurant and delivered.

Any combination of 25 available toppings can be made for the pizza, and, according to owner Dave Ross, the people in Fall Rover know and like food and Portuguese cuisine is one of their favorites. He adds that the most popular is the Portuguese steak pizza, while another favorite has been the Fall River Hawaiian.

Ross thought that the first few weeks would be quiet, but business at the restaurant has been busier than he expected and he has had to hire more people. Although he says did little real advertising, he most likely needed to hire a local Print company to Print the Menus for takeout and eating in the restaurant.

In order to open his restaurant, his brother, Paul, who owns a pizza restaurant in Vermont, came down to help him. His other brother, Steve, who has owned restaurants in New Hampshire, helped out too. They helped to train the new employees, who Ross says have adapted well.

Ross added that people have been very friendly, introducing themselves and offering ideas as well.
