Historic school in Fall River to be converted into apartments

What was once the Notre Dame Grammar School in Fall River will be redeveloped into an apartment building. Rockland Trust has provided a loan of $7.4m to Hajjar Management Co., Inc. for the project.

The Lofts at Lafayette, as this school will be known, spans 45,640 square feet and will have 48 units. Developers of such properties often visit their local Stationery printers to get materials with more details professionally printed.

There will be two off-street parking spots included with each unit, with a mix of two-bedroom units in a townhouse style, and one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. It is on Saint Joseph Street, which is a quiet area and within walking distance of many restaurants and shops, as well as Edmond P. Talbot Middle School and Lafayette Park.

Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer at Rockland Trust, Erin Williams, said that they have been working for many years with the team at Hajjar Management and such projects are always exciting for the community.

President at Hajjar Management Co., Inc., Chuck Hajjar, said that this will be a unique opportunity to revive a historic and vacant building, and invest in the residential market of Fall River. Hajjar expressed his appreciation of the team at Rockland Trust and the efforts that have been made to make this project come to life.

The project is due to be completed in August 2023.
