The Burns Foundation and Amber Burns are hosting the annual Back to School Block Party this month in Fall River.
The Block Party will be held at Kennedy Park. There will be staff from the Fall River Public Schools who can support students and their parents and guardians to prepare them for the upcoming school year.
Such philanthropic events and their benefits for the community are often made known throughout a city with poster printing.
The Block Party will have free school supplies, including Backpacks filled with Notebooks, folders, erasers, Pens, and highlighters, and promises to be a day of fun. There will be local partners welcoming students back to school. Food trucks at the event will include Supa Dupa, County Fare Hot Dogs, Cool Licks Ice Cream, and Pizza Hut with food available for purchase. Also at the Block Party there will be music, games, and many giveaways.
This is the fourth year of the Block Party. It started in the summer of 2020 as a way to cheer on the participants of the Fall River Basketball Association. Since then, it has grown into an event for the entire community that typically attracts 2,000 people each year and celebrates unity, the community, and education.
The Block Party will be from noon to 4:00 pm next Saturday, August 10 while supplies last.
