Fall River to open accessible fitness center

An outdoor Fitness Court will be coming to Fall River, arising from a partnership between National Fitness Campaign (NFC) and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (Blue Cross), Fall River.

To be situated on Wordell Street, the Fitness Court is an outdoor gym where people use the weight of their bodies across seven exercise stations to get a complete workout. It was created for those 14 years of age and older of all abilities and fitness levels. Workouts can be adapted for various fitness levels so that those using the equipment at the stations can exercise at their own pace. Gym-goers can also download a free Fitness Court app that enhances the outdoor gym with the idea of a coach in one’s pocket.

Such new citywide amenities often turn to brochure printing to offer further details on their features and benefits for the community.

NFC and Blue Cross developed the Fitness Court to create exercise that is equally accessible for communities around the state, and to increase free access to high-quality workouts. Mayor Paul Coogan said that the city is looking to improve the health of its residents every day. He added that having this Fitness Court as part of Britland Park is an ideal way to provide a free fitness resource that is accessible to everyone.

The Fitness Court will be opening next Tuesday, August 8 at 10:00 am.
