Several holiday festivities are coming to Fall River this month, all on the same day.
The Festival of Trees will fill Government Center and city hall with individually decorated Christmas trees. The event is free and will feature music, refreshments, fun activities for both children and adults, and a visit from Santa Claus. For $50, individuals, businesses, civic groups, and neighborhood groups can sponsor a six-foot tree and decorate it in their desired theme. The Festival of Trees will run from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
There will also be the Historic Holiday Tour. Visitors will be able to tour six grand and impressive properties in Fall River, each of which has its own distinct style. The Fall River Community Preservation Committee has donated funds to these homes for their presentation. There will be guides to provide the history about such homes, with students from Bristol Community College to welcome guests at each of the properties. Local Print shops are often hired to create program Booklets for such tours. This event will run from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The last event will be the Holiday Concert at the Abbey Grill on Rock Street. The Al Deston trio will perform light classics and favorite songs and carols of the holiday season. The concert will begin at 4:00 pm.
All these events will take place on Saturday, December 11.
