Fall River project marks first year with event schedule
The AHA! Moments arts and cultural program recently celebrated its one year anniversary in Fall River.
Organized by the former city councilor Dave Dennis and his wife Sandy, this is a transformative program designed to change the look and feel of the people and community of Fall River. Combined with the AHA! program in New Bedford and support from the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts, the intention is to create a center of culture and arts along the south coast of Massachusetts.
The lineup for this year will kick off with AHA! Night, with this year’s theme being that every house has a story. There will be two concerts, historic house cakes, and many other interactive activities and exhibits. This will take place along North and South Main Streets this Thursday, May 21, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Other events planned are the theme night of ‘Fables and Folklore’ on October 15 and ‘Classic Christmas Creativity’ on December 17.
The ‘Homefront in the 1940s’ theme on August 12 will be the highlight of the season, as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of Battleship Cove. The kickoff event will be a special celebration in which members of the community will be encouraged to dress in clothes from the 1940s era to celebrate the World War II theme.
The AHA! program might consider working with a flyer printing company to generate enthusiasm in the community for these special events.
