What's Happening in Fall River, MA…

New eatery comes to Fall River

Counting House is now open in Fall River, bringing a new dining option to the area.

Located in the Durfee-Union Mills complex, Counting House is owned by Brian Corey and Tina Soscia. The restaurant spans 3,500 square feet and has a bar with 30 seats, chandeliers, lounge areas with jewel-toned chairs and couches, and white marble tops for the bar and tables. The front courtyard will have a patio and space for a small pop-up bar and live entertainment. It has an intimate setting that pays tribute to the rich history of Fall River.

The eatery is so named because the building was once the counting house for those who worked in the Durfee mills in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The vault holds the high-end alcohol of the restaurant and is the centerpiece of the bar.

It features a unique menu of craft cocktails, espresso martinis, mocktails, and Nitro coffee on tap. The fare is small, shareable plates with both Italian and Portuguese inspirations, ranging from cheeseboards and dips to dessert boards. More classic cuisine includes four-cheese baked gnocchi and pork sliders with portobello mushrooms.

Such new restaurants often benefit from professional poster printing to promote themselves throughout a city.

As 2025 continues, Soscia plans to offer Sunday brunch, as well as live entertainment on the weekends.
