Fall River plans summer activities

Greater Fall River Re-Creation is planning a revised schedule for its summer activities.

Grace Gerling, executive director of Re-Creation, said the summer schedule will look very different. There will not be the usual lunch in the park activity, but the free Lunch in the Park will be available for pick up on weekdays at housing developments, city parks, and schools from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Breakfast will be added to the schedule. On Fridays, breakfasts and lunches for the weekend will be made available for pick-up by parents.

The Community Sailing Program will be offered on site. Participants will be limited, with one person per boat. The program is designed for kids between the ages of 9 and 18. There will be two-week sessions of this program from Monday June 29 through Friday August 21. Sessions will be held from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. There could also be a program for tennis, Gerling said.

Print shops are often hired to create Flyers and other materials with more information about such schedules.

Re-Creation will also be holding for adults a new online Fitness Challenge on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays at 9:00 a.m. Among the fitness partners for the program are Swansea Total Fitness, the Fall River YMCA, Fitness Fusion, and the SALT Fitness Company. The Fitness Challenge will run until Saturday August 29.
