Fall River food supplier recognized for high-quality donations

Blount Fine Foods of Fall River has been given the Food Donor of the Year award by the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB).

The awards program of the GBFB looks to demonstrate its appreciation for the organizations and individuals who have worked together to end hunger in the eastern part of Massachusetts. Residents of such communities can be made aware of such awards with flyer printing and other printing services.

This award is given to suppliers known to be reliable for donating nutrient-rich food, monetary funds, or time. Blount Fine Foods has been consistent in these efforts over the past several years. It has been a donation partner of the GBFB since 2002 and has donated over one million pounds of chilis, stews, soups, and chowders for distribution by the GBFB just within the last two years.

President and owner of Blount Fine Foods, Todd Blount, expressed his pride in his organization in being able to feed those most in need in the community. He added that those who work there are always looking to have an impact on and give back to the community.

Executive Vice President of Operations for GBFB, Cheryl Schondek, said that Blount Fine Foods has been a supplier of food for the past 20 years, and is regarded highly by member agencies.
