Concerts abound in Fall River area

Summer is the time for outdoor concerts, and they were plentiful in the Fall River area over the course of the last seven days.

The events scheduled were either free or came with a minimal charge to attendees, and were set to occur at different times and days throughout the week. Most likely, the organizers of these concerts chose to turn to flyer printing as a primary means of promotion, as it is a good way to provide people in the community with more details and information about concerts and other Forms of live entertainment.

Additionally, the weekend saw The Marion Police Brotherhood presenting its annual Summer Concert at Silvershell Beach, starting at 6:00pm. Aaron Norcross, a youth guitar master, opened the show and was followed by music from Patrick Fitzsimmons. A Bon Jovi/Journey Tribute Concert by BonJourney headlined the show and closed out the concert. Proceeds from the show are going to the many charities that the Marion Police Brotherhood supports throughout the year.

As part of his tour in the United States, Rodrigo Costa Felix – a Fado artist who performs a type of Portuguese urban folk music that developed during the 19th Century from the taverns and streets of Lisbon – headed to the New Bedford Whaling Museum on Friday, July 18th. The event was organized by the Portuguese/American cultural Exchange, Inc.
