Coffeehouse plans special anniversary lineup

The Stone Church Coffeehouse in Bristol, Rhode Island recently kicked off its 10th anniversary season. Residents of Fall River will want to make the short trip to this popular venue for folk music in the area for this special season.

It was started with pilot concerts in the spring of 2007 by Roger and Donna Dubord, with the full season beginning the following September. Roger Dubord said there were some growing pains at the beginning, but once acoustic treatment was added to the social room of the church, performers were excited about the venue for its acoustics, as well as home-town atmosphere.

A variety of music is planned for this season. This month, on October 29, Brook Williams will be returning to the Coffeehouse, followed by Neptune’s Car, a folk duet based in New England, and newcomers to the venue, in November.

Twisted Pine Bluegrass and Roots, for those who are fans of bluegrass music, will be performing in January. In February, Occidental Gypsy is scheduled to bring jazz and world music to the Coffeehouse.

Folk and bluegrass music returns in March with the Honey Dew Drops from Baltimore, and ends in April with contemporary folk performers Kristen Graves and Lara Herscovitch.

The Dubords might consider the use of a flyer printing company to Print the schedule of performers for the season at the Coffeehouse. This can then be distributed to communities in the area.
