Replacement concert series scheduled for Orland Park

The Board of Trustees in Orland Park has given its approval for a series of concerts.

The free concerts will be replacing the paid-for performances that were planned along with the Centennial Park West Concert Series. The vote from the board was held on 3rd August and it passed with 4-3 in favor.

The Villager Manager, George Koczwara, commented:

“Due to circumstances beyond our control, the paid acts rescheduled to next year. In lieu of that, we are going to do a free concert series. It is going to incorporate the drive-in option that was discussed previously.”

Mayor Keith Pekau believes the drive-in option gives people a choice they can be comfortable with. According to Pekau, canceling the concert series would have cost the Village close to $200,000. Offering the free concert instead will only cost the Village about $90,000. The goal is to save money on the budget while giving its residents a chance to enjoy themselves. Flyer printing can be used to advertise events.

The trustees who voted in favor of the concert said that they are confident of the Village’s plan to carry out these events safely after the model was tested during the Fourth of July celebrations.

Attendees will be entertained by local bands. It starts on 22nd August and runs through till 12th September at Centennial Park West
