Orland Park will be celebrating the 250th anniversary of our nation with a Red, White & Blue Fest and Parade towards the end of May.
This will be a Memorial Day weekend kick-off experience that will feature an amateur rib cook-off, community parade, live entertainment, food trucks, children's activities, and fireworks.
Each parade group may include vehicles, decorated floats, walking units, equestrian, and music, marching, or performing groups. They are asked to decorate in patriotic themes and have until May 8 to submit their entry. The parade will step off at 10:00 am.
The Red, White & Blue Amateur BBQ Competition on Saturday will begin at 7:30 am at the park. There will be a BBQ Contest Cooks Meeting at 9:00 am and meat will be distributed right afterwards. Ribs must be turned in by 3:00 pm for judging and the public will begin tasting at 3:30 pm. The awards presentation will begin around 5:30 pm.
Kids' activities will run from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the park. Live entertainment will be provided from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm when the fireworks start. Sponsors will be giving away Promotional Products such as promotional Pens, headbands, yardsticks, and Mugs.
