Orland Park residents will have two event options - a flower workshop, and a Glow skating experience - on the same day in early February.
From 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm, Studio VOP, 14409 Beacon Avenue, will hold a Victorian Language of Flowers floriography. Guests will learn how secret messages used flowers, different blooms had difference meanings and floral arrangements will be displayed to be interpreted. Backyard Patch Herbs will teach attendees about symbolic tussie-mussie (nosegay/posey) bouquets and participants will be creating their own bouquets to take home.
Winter Wonderland Ice Skating Rink, 15600 West Avenue and Fun Drive, will transform into a vibrant nighttime Glow on Ice. Neon and blacklight effects will sweep across the ice to the beat of high-energy music. Skaters may come in their brightest neon outfits and glow accessories will be provided. Hot drinks and winter bites will be available for purchase from local food trucks and there will be winter-inspired activities and games.
Pictures taken during events like this are often taken to local Print shops for duplicate Copies or to be put into family newsletters.
Admission will be free; skates may be rented for $3 a pair and guests may use their own skates.
Glow in Ice will take place from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Both events will take place on February 7th.
