Popular Orland Park fundraiser makes return

An event with a focus on aiding local animals is returning to Orland Park in mid-September.

Pet-Palooza is a festival geared towards pet lovers and their furry friends. The party creates a fun atmosphere, while also incorporating an element of charity. Money is being raised for the Orland Township Pet Pantry, which helps local pet owners in need make sure their animals are fed, even in difficult times. The event is organized by Paul O’Grady and his team.

Pets, provided they are well behaved and kept on short leashes, are welcome to attend with their humans. There will be an area set up with pools, water bowls, mist, and shade for the pets to relax in. Kids will also have a special zone with popular characters to meet, face painting, bouncy houses, games, and train rides.

Over 75 companies, charities, and adoption agencies or shelters will also be present. Some local eateries will have free samples as well. Many of these restaurants include pet-friendly spaces on their premises.

Contests are also a part of the event, with categories such as “best dressed.”

Attending is free, although a donation of either cash or pet food is appreciated. Flyer printing is a popular method of advertising for many festivals and fundraising events. Attendees should go to the Township Grounds from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 21.
