A concert venue in Orland Park will serve as the backdrop for a performance by a strong and legendary couple this summer.
Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo are a married couple who have performed together for decades, after initially meeting in 1978. Giraldo works as a producer, musician, songwriter, and arranger. He plays guitar for Benatar as well, aiding her in creating the sound she is known for today. Benatar began as a performer in small clubs, garnering wildly positive reactions. Early on, she also took to an off Broadway stage for a run of The Zinger, playing Zephyr. Once Benatar took off as a recording artist, she, along with Giraldo, earned a multitude of awards, including a quartet of consecutive wins for Best Female Rock Performance at the Grammys in the 1980s.
Among Benatar’s records are “Heartbreaker,” “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” “We Belong,” and “Love Is A Battlefield.”
The duo’s tour will head into the local venue Centennial Park West. The tickets are sold through Universe. Among the options is one which grants access to three of the venue’s shows, for $60. The shows included in this bundle are Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts with Hunter Hayes (6/8/2024), Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo (7/13/2024), and One Vision of Queen featuring Marc Martel (8/17/2024). General lawn admission to just the performance of Benatar & Giraldo is $25.
The concert is being presented thanks to Mazda. Many times, artists will sell merchandise with a tour-specific Logo Design. The show is expected to run between 7:00pm and 10:00pm, with the venue gates opening at 6:00pm. Robin Taylor Zander will start off the night. Food and drinks will be sold through local vendors.
