Orland Park Library invites public to learn more about computers

The Orland Park Public Library announced to the public that it is now offering a wide variety of computer and technology instruction geared to all levels of knowledge and ability.

Whether a person wants to learn how to use their iPad or other tablet, or would like to try out the latest in 3D printing technology, there is something for everyone.

Jason Rock, who is the institution’s Virtual Services Manager, will be helping patrons to learn more about their digital device and how to make the most from them. The topics covered will include subjects like Windows 8, Facebook, Twitter, eBay, Microsoft Word, using Pinterest, and how to job hunt online. The dates and times for these different sessions can be found on the library’s calendar, and they are all free of charge. A booklet printing company can create a variety of instructional handouts for those who attend the classes.

Those who prefer an independent learning model are invited to make use of the Smart Lab. It has two each of both Mac and PC computers, both of which have been loaded with the latest software. Users can convert VHS tapes to a digital format, make their own HD videos using special editing software, and there is even a 3D printer to try out.

Anyone who is interested in finding out more about the library and the classes that are available is invited to browse the library’s website. It is located at 14921 Ravinia Avenue in Orland Park.
